Meet David.
David Beyerl is a health coach based in Los Angeles, dedicated to helping clients create lasting change in their health and well-being.
A veteran of Naval Intelligence, David served six years in the Navy as a Cryptologic Technician and made four deployments, including counter-narcotics deployments. He also served as Command Fitness Leader for about 250 Sailors, where his leadership earned him the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal for designing and implementing a command-wide physical training program for all Sailors aboard his ship.
After his military service, David spent 15 years cooking professionally, training in Northern Italy and working in Michelin-starred kitchens in Italy and New York City. He later built a career as a private chef, serving professional athletes, Grammy Award-winning artists, high-performing executives, and individuals managing serious health conditions, including Type 1 diabetes and cancer treatment. He planned menus around each client’s medical needs, at times working alongside their care team. It was during this time that David began to view food as truly medicinal, recognizing how the right approach to nutrition could transform overall quality of life.
Building on that foundation, David trained at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and completed IIN’s Coaching Intensive Practicum, an NBHWC-approved training program, before launching his coaching practice. He graduated summa cum laude from Purdue University Global in 2026 with a Bachelor of Science in Health and Wellness.
Today, David blends his background in fitness, nutrition, and lived experience to guide clients toward healthier routines, improved energy, and greater resilience through empowerment and empathy. He believes that wellness isn’t about perfection. It’s about making consistent, intentional choices you can keep. He lives with his wife, a costume designer for film and TV, in the San Fernando Valley. Learn more about David’s path to coaching.
